Green kitchen with oak and a dining place

Sage-green lacquered fronts, oak as a warm counterpoint and a dining table that grows straight out of the counter.

About the project

For a young family, in about eleven square metres. The brief: cook, eat and work in the same place without it feeling cramped.

The answer is a U-shape whose short leg runs out into a counter and continues as the dining table. Table and counter sit at the same height – so the room reads as one surface rather than two pieces of furniture.

The fronts are lacquered in a matt sage green, the wall-unit zone veneered in oak. The slate-look ceramic worktop carries up as a splashback and protects the wall behind the hob.
